The convention was founded in 2008 and was the first Furry convention in Brazil occurring once a year, usually during the Brazilian Carnival holiday.
The first idea started during a discussion at FurryBrasil forum when WToboe asked if exists any furry convention in Brazil, then Reyres and Ekevoo started to think about the possibility to perform. One year later Reyres cruited the first team composed by six volunteers.
The first event occured 2-5 February 2008 and the second occured 21-24 February 2009. With 15 and 22 attendees respectively.
The main idea of Abando is promote a healthy place to camp and has outdoor activities.
[edit] Location
The event occurs at Sitio Maio, a big farm located in São Roque, a city at country side near São Paulo, Brazil. The last two editions there are no different places.
The Sitio Maio's farm has a excelent infra structure to support at least 150 attendees, if they use tents.
