It was originally published semiannually in January and July, beginning with #1, January 2000; however, publication became sporadic after the first two years due to a lack of stories considered of high-enough quality. There was a three-year gap between #7, July 2003, and #8, November 2006; the latter won the 2006 Ursa Major Award for Best Anthropomorphic Fanzine.
Anthrolations was revived in 2007 and is currently accepting submissions. Sofawolf Press plans a new issue's release in late 2007.
