Blackpaw resides in Colorado and is mated to Genom. He is an founder and administrator (along with Maus Merryjest, Sorin Kat, and Taiho) of ColoFurs, a yahoo group based in Colorado for furries.

In 2001 at Mephit Fur Meet Blackpaw and Maus Merryjest held a 'pawfasting' ceremony: a variety of commitment ceremony.
