[edit] About the artist

Chilly's main focus was studying graphic design and biology while attending school. She currently resides in Virginia. Past professional work of hers includes painted displays for Trader Joe's, and commercial graphics for Ledo Pizza in Northern Virginia. Work of hers varies from real life portraits, abstract works, logo design, web design, cartoon convention badges, gallery cels, model sheets, and various cartoon illustrations.

Though not a furry, Chilly has enjoyed being a part of the fandom itself via illustrations created for fans, volunteering at conventions, and meeting other patrons of the fandom at various small events, conventions, and friends of friends. She was also contributor to yerf.com, until the site closed and continued as a LiveJournal community.

Chilly has been published from issue 41 - 50 in the small press fanzine Huzzah!, Anthrocon and I-Con convention books, and a limited run self-published hard bound book titled, "Random Oddities."

During November 16 - 18, 2007, she attended as one of the Guests of Honor at Midwest Furfest 2007.

[edit] About the character Chilly

Chilly
Chilly

The name "Chilly," came about not so much as a "fan name," but from the fact that her body temperature is often very low. The warmer months help how she feels. In 1997, she wandered upon a bulletin community, alt.tv.animaniacs, which involved many other people with interest in the animation industry (fans, and a few other artists). She later stumbled upon an IRC community of the same genre from this group. The user name of "Chillymouse" was chosen. The majority of its users had animal and cartoon related characters they wished to portray themselves as.

The character created, "Chilly," is a fluffy steel-grey rodent with blue eyes. She's usually wearing some form of blue v-neck t-shirt, and baggy blue jeans. The character is often referred to as a mouse, but is more so a "generic rodent," dubbed a "grousse."

[edit] About the character Rollie

Occasionally, Chilly also portrays a silly puppy mascot character known as Rollie Mutt and a purple and white spotted skunk named Edmund for children of all ages for various freelance and volunteer gigs. Her professional appearances includes the Falls Church Labor Day Celebration, Trader Joe's, Borders, and the Richmond Virginia Youth Summit. Volunteer appearances includes Give Kids the World, Mt. Vernon Recreational Center Halloween Children's Parade, and the Long Island Ducks Mascot Day.

Rollie, who usually sports an Aloha shirt, was created after learning about friends from the Funday PawPet Show volunteering at Give Kids the World. The character was completed after just a short two weeks of work in December of 2000, and premiered for friends in January of 2001. Other characters are in the works, including a rabbit, and an undetermined rodent character.

Other work with children includes day camp and mentoring work, musical improv and storytelling, and running I-Con's children's track.

In her off-time, Chilly enjoys road trips, sci-fi-related conventions (anime, comics, furry), finding the perfect root beer float, roller coasters, cooking, and drawing silly things on post-it notes.
