Christian fur

A Christian fur is an individual who is both a Christian and a furry fan.

The particular branch of Christianity, and the level of participation in the fandom, varies dramatically. Some Christian furs are lifestylers who have integrated their beliefs, while others keep religion and fandom separate.

There is occasionally some friction between Christian furs and other furry fans who follow different religions/traditions (or none at all); in many cases, this is caused by the belief that the Christian fur is less tolerant of other beliefs, or overly conservative. Conversely, some Christian furs are criticised by other Christians, who believe the lifestyle is incompatible with their faith.

Christianity is often depicted in various forms in the fandom. Animal symbolism is common throughout the religion itself, Jesus himself being compared in the Bible to both a lion and a lamb. Christian furry artists, such as XianJaguar and Holly Ann, depict images of Jesus as an anthropomorphic lion. Some Christian furs even refer to this lion form of Jesus as Aslan.
