D.C. Simpson, real name David Craig Simpson, is the writer and artist of Ozy and Millie and I Drew This; the former resulted in an invitation as guest of honor for Midwest FurFest 2002, and he has also been announced as a guest of honor for Morphicon 2008. Prior to 1998, D.C. created illustrations of characters from Tails of the City.

Most recently, D.C. has been working on a comic book, tentatively named "Raine Dog." The comic stars Raine, a blue female dog, in a world where pets are fully anthropomorphic but still subject to the same laws of property as animals in the real world. D.C. says the project is heavily influenced by Newshounds, by Thomas K. Dye.

D.C.'s work on Ozy and Millie has been twice recognized by the Ursa Major Awards; first in 2002 when the collection Ozy and Millie IV: Authentic Banana Dye won Best Anthropomorphic Other Literary Work, and secondly in 2006 when the comic won Best Anthropomorphic Comic Strip (after nominations in prior years).

Did you know? D.C. used to sign artwork with the name Rain, and is still known by that name to some people. He often draws himself as a blue dragon.
