deviantART is one of the largest online art galleries and discussion sites (approximately 2 million existing members and growing.) Many professional "anthro artists" submit their work there, as well as amateurs.

deviantART does not allow pornographic material to be submitted; however, "tasteful" nudity is allowed. This rule is enforced very strictly in cases of furry-oriented sexuality due to concerns of zoophilia or bestiality.[citation needed]

As of August 2006, deviantART has a top-level anthro category, potentially exposing a greater proportion of the deviantART audience to anthropomorphic art.
Various "clubs" have been formed to connect the furry community on deviantART, similar to communities on LiveJournal. A handful of anthro-oriented chat rooms have also formed since August 2004.
Despite a big presence on deviantART, however, the growth of anthro and furry users (and their influence) is slow, and is expected to decline as many prefer more furry oriented communities such as Fur Affinity.[citation needed]
