Exkhaniber

Exkhaniber is a furry that became active in the community in late 2001, with his typical avatar being that of an ice dragon. He mainly can be found on Anthrochat, although he is rarely online. This is due to a hectic work schedule, as well as working on several writing projects that he plans on developing into a career. He has been attending some furry conventions since 2005 and is happily mated.

His history is spotty at best. When he initially got involved with the furry fandom, he was still in high school and living with his father in New York. During this time he took some short trips to meet other furs for the first time, Lukeroo and Foxen [a local NY fur, in no relation to the "Foxen" Wikifur entry]. When he graduated, he moved in with his mother on the West coast to help financially support her. However, he did not get along with his sister who was also in the residence. Major fights broke out almost daily.

In January of 2003, he took a road trip to meet two furs in Sacramento. The plan was initially to attend Further Confusion, but that fell through and instead they simply hung out in the city. This was the first of many failed attempts to attend FC, something of which became a running joke between himself and his fur friends.

[edit] Breakdown

Due to major disruptions in his furry life in January of 2004, he more or less turned into a bitter asshole. He remained barely civil to few, friendly to even less, and generally pushed away almost everyone he knew in his life (although it has been suggested that this was a subconscious reaction to protect others from himself). For years, he sat and stewed in his own fermented pot of twisted hatred and loathing.

Added onto this was a personal life that was also rapidly deteriorating. His mother, despite the assistance he was giving her, lost the house. With no options left at his disposal, he located a furry acquaintance, Dragohn, whom just happened to need a roommate. Although this fur lived across the country, he managed to scratch together the resources to pick up and move there in the end of May 2004.

He lived there for a number of years while he started to piece his life back together. He attended his first convention during this time, Anthrocon of 2005. He spent this time with longtime friend Foxen, as well as Mystech.

Over time, he eventually calmed down a bit, but he was still inwardly bitter. He became at least civil with most folk and tried to lead a least a normal life. He still suffered from paranoia and a vicious temper that was only barely contained.

[edit] Turnaround

A chance encounter with Radjin in January of 07 turned his life around. Using Radjin as his role model, Exkhaniber started to turn his life around for the better. Currently he is trying to repair his torn past while working towards a new future for himself.

[edit] Writing

In early 2002, as Khaniber, he posted some short stories to a Yahoo! group, and wrote for a story trade with Polaryan.

Exkhaniber is working on a science fiction novel, part of a planned 20 book series, co-written with a friend, and together they have been planning out and writing this novel since high school.

He also writes occasional short stories that he posts to his Fur_Affinity site.
