FA: United

Fur Affinity: United! (also known as FA: United!, or just United!) is a furry convention, produced by the Northeast Anthropomorphic Association (a non-profit 501(c)7 based in New Jersey) partnered with Fur Affinity. First held 10-12 August 2007 at the Ramada Newark Airport International in Newark, New Jersey.^[1], it was then held 1-3 August 2008 at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott.

"United!" was chosen as the convention's title to reflect Fur Affinity and the Northeast Anthropomorphic Society's goal to help strengthen the Furry community's bond.

• FA: United 2007 had 310 attendees, with 25 fursuiters participating in the fursuit parade. The amount of Founding level super sponsors outranked the number of regular sponsors at the con.
• Sponsors at FA: United 2007 received a t-shirt while Founding level super sponsors received both the t-shirt and a unique, limited edition 2GB flash drive.
• The convention organizers planned to have the role of the convention's mascot, Fender, brought to life by an official convention mascoteer. Due to budget reasons in the first year, this has been delayed until 2008.
• The convention's official charity was the Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia, New Jersey.^[2] The convention raised $1,600^[3] for this charity.
• Cake holds the title of the first fursuiter to ever attend an FA: United convention.
• The convention distributed "FA Bucks" to members of the convention, gift certificates which could be redeemed in the Dealer's Room or convention store for cash.
• FA: United 2007 was host to a live, completely free three-hour indie rock concert. Bands included the Gay Blades performing their hit song O Shot and Sikamor Rooney. The set opened with local indie rock band Zsa Zsa Gabortion and the Back Alley Mcbeals, headed by FA: United staff member, Sox Pup. All bands performed for free on the condition drinks would be on the house.
• FA: United 2008 had 381 attendees, with 14 guests from outside the USA. There were 26 fursuiters participating in the fursuit parade. A total of $1,820 was raised for the convention's charity, New Jersey SPCA^[4].
• Continuing the tradition of free live music, FA: United 2008 featured the return of the Gay Blades who performed at the convention's Opening Ceremonies and the concert by The Press and Shitty Grape Lollipops^[5].
