Father Of The Pride (often abbreviated FOTP) is a computer animated cartoon from DreamWorks (the studio behind Madagascar, Shrek, and Shrek 2).

The show deals with the mostly off-stage antics of a family of white lions who are performers at Siegfried & Roy's magic show in Las Vegas.

The show premiered on August 31st, 2004 on American Television. It was canceled after its first season on the air.

DreamWorks released the DVD box set of the entire series on June 7th, 2005. The box set contains all 14 episodes, including 3 episodes that haven't been aired before the release of the DVD, including the pilot (original and revised version), as well as commentaries and "The Lost Tale", an unanimated episode, presented with voice acting, sound and story boards. Out of the 3 unaired episodes (original pilot, Stage Fright and The Siegfried & Roy Movie Fantasy Experience Movie), all but the original pilot aired after the release of the DVD.

The show won the 2004 Ursa Major Award for Best Anthropomorphic Dramatic Series.

Character Voice Actor Profile
Larry John Goodman The star of Father of the Pride, Larry is a middle-aged, overweight white lion who, through a bizarre series of events, becomes star of Siegfried and Roy's world famous magic show (replacing his less-than-delighted father-in-law). Larry tends to speak before he thinks.
Kate Cheyl Hines Larry's wife and daughter of Sarmoti. She is usually having a hard time keeping up with the antics of Larry as well as trying to keep up their relationship with the neighborhood.
Sarmoti Carl Reiner Sarmoti is Kate's Father. He loathes Larry for not being born in Africa and never fails to spot an opportunity to remind him about it. He loves objectifying women, drinking and playing poker with his friends. The name "Sarmoti" is an acronym of "Siegfried And Roy, Masters Of The Impossible".
Snack Orlando Jones Snack is a gopher and Larry's best friend. He and Larry go way back.
Sierra Danielle Harris Sierra is Larry's rebellious teen-aged daughter. She is an activist with very left-wing views. She has been compared to an older, more popular version of Lisa Simpson on some occasions on Father of the Pride discussion forums.
Hunter Daryl Sabara Hunter is Larry's somewhat immature 9-year-old son. He is always shown wearing a plastic Elizabethan collar because of his rash (as mentioned in the original pilot) and is portrayed as slightly mentally-deficient and geeky. He is the most rarely-used main character, being entirely absent from a few episodes.
Siegfried & Roy Julia Hollyway & David Herman Siegfried and Roy are usually presented somewhat disconnected from reality. They appear in a humorous side-story in almost every episode, trying to live their everyday life.
