[edit] Character history
In the fall of 1992 Fox first entered the realm of the Internet, already having been a part of the BBS community for many years. His first form was that of a silver dragon with violet eyes, and he started chatting on the newsgroup alt.fan.dragons. Even at that time he was called by the name Fox.
Things didn't last on the newsgroup; politics and infighting made it a place that Fox did not want to be. Eventually he abandoned the group as well as his dragon form.
In the last weeks of 1994 he found himself in #Furry on EFnet. There were only a few people there, but they were willing to talk with him, and he made friends. At the time he was using Fox has in IRC nick, so he adopted a vulpine form.
On EFNet, the name Fox was very common, and many people were trying to use it. After a few weeks of frustration with this he decided to go by a different nick, and created the name Foxeris because it sounded vaguely Latin (he didn't know the correct term for a fox at the time) which later became his real name.
Fox was a common feature on #Furry for many years, helping with the transition to Yiffnet, helping to found it, as well as running many of the smaller channels on the network. He left #Furry in 1998 after become fed up about how the people in the channel acted. He remained a lurker on the network, and to this day can still be found lurking around on FurNet.
At the end of 2001, Fox once again made a change to his form, becoming a lion. This change came after many years of dissatisfaction with being a fox, as well as a general attraction to lions.
[edit] Different forms
[edit] Lion
- Fox's most recent and best-fitting form is that of a anthropomorphic lion. He stands a hair under five foot ten inches with a thick mane of black hair, with a pair of glasses perched on his thick muzzle highlighting his dark blue eyes.
- He usually is dressed in a simple T-shirt a pair of denim shorts. He wears no shoes on his digitigrade feet, and the only jewelry he wears is a earring in each ear.
- As a lion he is overweight, sporting a bit of a belly on his 260 pound frame. He isn't embarrassed by his weight, and doesn't take extra steps to hide it.
- Some times he sports a pair of large feathered wings. These are black, fading into tan near the base of his shoulders.
[edit] Fox
- This was Fox's longest running form, and the way most people expect him to look when they first meet him.
- As a fox, he is a few inches shorter then as a lion, but still wears his glasses. His black hair is long but kept in a pony tail that reacted a third of the way down his back.
- His clothing was more in a medieval style, some times with a cape and a thick walking staff. This form was thin and toned, but there were still times when he would put on weight.
[edit] Dragon
- Fox's first form and the one least seen. As a dragon he keep things simple, not bothering with any clothing, or even glasses. His scales are silver and his eyes are violet, he also has a pair of spiral horns.
- Usually he is a morphic dragon in the form, but some times will become non-morphic.
- Fox will still sometimes take this form, but only if asked nicely.
[edit] As a writer
Fox has been a writer as long as he can remember, and wrote his first story in second grade. He has been writing since, though some times fast, and some times slow.
He started writing stories with furry characters in the months before discovering the fandom, but it was years before he ever shared them on line. He first started posting his stories to the TSA-Talk mailing list soon after he joined, and later posted stories to the spk.lit news group.
It partly because of the spk.lit group that he meet Brian W. Antoine, one of the only other furs in Spokane at the time. Over time they became friends, and Brian encouraged Fox in his writing.
In the last week of 1995 Fox posted a short story to spk.lit, originally meant as a small writing exercise it grew into A Fox in the Works, a series of furry stories that were still being written as of 2007.
Fox has written many other stories, working in the both the The Blind Pig and Metamor Keep shared universes.
His short story The Last Lion appears in the mainstream collection Twisted Cat Tales.
Fox founded the current version of the Furry Lit mailing list.
[edit] Conventions
Fox has been at every Conifur but the very first, and has been a sponsor. As of 2007, he is running the writers track at Rainfurrest.
