Furry Fiesta is a furry convention planned to be held in Dallas, Texas, USA from February 20-22, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

As of April 20, 2008 the contract with the hotel has been signed, the Dallas Regional Anthropomorphic Meeting Association has been formed as a non-profit governing organization and a convention staff of 14 has been assembled. An official website and forum is currently being worked on. The convention is currently chaired by Istanbul. Kaffa Wolf has returned to the project to provide financial support and act as primary webmaster.

Originally, the con was to be chaired by Exodite Dragon, with Kaffa Wolf providing financial and logistical support as director of operations. After his departure from the project, Kaffa was replaced by Evol.^[1] The convention was initially planned for September 2007, then rescheduled to 2008, and finally postponed indefintely with Exodite's withdrawal.

Numerous locations were scouted until the Radisson Hotel in downtown Austin was identified as a potential candidate to host the convention.^[2]

The convention's original start date in September 2007 was initially postponed indefinitely and then cancelled outright. Several scheduled deadlines during the course of the event's initial planning were either late in being met or missed altogether due to conflicts with both Exodite's collegiate coursework and Kaffa's increased workload.

In January 2007, Exodite Dragon and Evol, a former Rocket City Fur Meet staffer, sought additional volunteers both in and outside of Texas to aid in the relaunch of Furry Fiesta. An official post in the convention's LiveJournal community listed available staff positions.^[3] No serious applicants put in for any of the positions. Citing a lack of both funding and local interest, Exodite withdrew his support from the convention in April 2007.

Exodite has released the convention's name for use by anyone who wishes to continue the project.^{[citation needed]}

Furry Fiesta was slated to make a return, but as a much smaller meeting rather than a convention. It was scheduled for Fiesta week^[4] in San Antonio, TX. It was slated to be lead by Marthaen and plans on having more details soon.

As of Monday, April 7 2008, this event was cancelled due to medical bills incurred by Marthaen. Marthaen later agreed to allow the current con staff to use the Furry Fiesta name and to begin promotion of the new convention after the party's original meeting date.
