GreatestJournal (GJ) is an online journal community (blog) akin to LiveJournal (LJ). In fact, GreatestJournal uses LiveJournal's source code for all of its operations and looks, feels, and behaves exactly like LJ with a few differences. The minor differences are that a couple of options such as blog-by-phone and blog-by-email are not available on GJ. The major difference is that GJ is entirely free with every paid option from LiveJournal being free, open, and ramped-up (2000 userpics, for example). There is a split in the fur fandom of who likes to use which service, but most seem to prefer LJ simply because it was there first. However, LJ creator Brad Fitzpatrick introduced openID to enable users being to comment on blogs not part of their respective parent websites.
