Howloween 2007 was officially "cancelled" on September 8th, 2007.[1] The event was unable to re-book the former hotel due to behavioral problems of some attendees at the 2006 event. The problems were believed to have been caused mostly by non-local attendees. The larger non-local presence is presumed to have been the result of the absence of another winter furcon in the region (Conifur Northwest 2006).
The organizers of Howl-o-ween are encouraging locals to put together other small local Halloween parties this year and will be discussing plans for Howl-o-ween 2008 at a later date. There is speculation that future Howl-o-ween's may have a limited or closed attendance to retain the more intimate 'party' environment with which the event was originally created to avoid trouble with large group behavioral problems.
