An island in Second Life is a 16-acre plot of virtual land that can be bought by anyone and placed in their universe. Several islands or sets of islands are devoted to furries, such as FurNation Worlds, Fur Valleys, Serenity Woods (previously The Forest), and Cub Conclave.
