Jim Groat

Jim Groat (known as Rabbi_Tom on FurryMUCK) is the founder, writer and line artist behind the West Corner Of the Park. He is the creator of the characters Red Shetland and Equine the Uncivilized, published (since 1985) under his independent publishing label GraphXPress. He has also done commercial art for others, including interior artwork for the GURPS version of Bunnies & Burrows.

Jim was a guest of honor at ConFurence 1 (1990), Albany Anthrocon 1998, and Rocket City FurMeet 2004. He is the namesake of the Groatish Mauling.

Jim makes a cameo appearance in the 1993 feature film 'Tombstone' where he plays a patron at 'The Birdcage Theater;' at 26:50 into the film he is thrown out of his seat by one of the Red Sash gang.

Jim resides in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A. with his wife Rebekah and their two children John and Marguerite. He is a member of the Lake Area Furry Friends.
