The KyFurs (or Kentucky Furs) webpage is a place for furries in and around Kentucky to socialize, chat online, post interesting news, and get involved in local meetups and get-togethers. KYFurs official name is Kentucky Anthropomorphic Society (KAS), which is the name used when dealing with non-furry organizations/companies. It has replaced the now-defunct FuzzKYpage, which was started by SlickFox as the main way to meet furries in Kentucky. KYFurs began life as a Yahoo Group started by Caranthir, which still exists, but is now no longer the primary focus of the community.
The organization has public meetings at local events called CoffeeCon|Coffeecons. At these meetings they usually go over any website design changes or figure out ways for the Kentucky furs to meetup in other ways (Aside from these meetups alone).
Also of interest is the Bluegrass Furs LiveJournal community, started by Darktiger77, which is another place for furries in Kentucky to socialize.
CoffeeCon is the one of the largest regularly organized furry gatherings local to the Kentucky area. Originally intended as an open-to-the-public administrative meeting between the two founders of of the KAS/KYFurs.com community, Ka and Panda, the faux "convention" has grown into an irregularly scheduled gathering often held in one of the state's two most populous cities.
