Midwest FurFest guests of honor

Midwest FurFest 2008 is a convention to be held 21-23 November at the Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, Illinois. The theme for this convention will be North to Alaska. The new convention chairman will be Duncan da Husky.[1]

[edit] Guests of Honor

Guests of honor that have already been announced are fursuit performer Lucky the Dog, and Darc and Matt Sowers, artist and writer respectively of Code Name: Hunter. Another guest of honor will be announced in early 2008.

[edit] Location

The date and the location of the convention were reserved for the closing ceremonies of Midwest FurFest 2007.[2], where it was announced by a video created by Cheetah that the convention would be moving to a new venue, as function space at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield was limited, attendance had grown rapidly,[3] and the main hotel and its overflow were getting tight on rooms.[4]

The new location is approximately 15 miles from the old venue. It has significantly more function space, although not many more rooms.[5] The dates and room rates are locked in for three years, although both the convention or hotel have the option to cancel the contract each year.[6]
