Oekaki
From WikiFur, the furry encyclopedia.
Oekaki (お絵描き) is both a Japanese term to describe the act of drawing computer "doodles" and/or "scribbles," and the name for a image board system that revolves around such style of computer art.

[edit] Oekaki as an art style
A major draw in oekaki art is its pixellated look, often using thick, colored outlines and basic rendering knowledge, as opposed to other forms of computer-rendered artwork.
Because of this, many pictures that resemble the oekaki style are considered oekaki, even if they were not produced on an oekaki BB
[edit] Oekaki as an image board
This type of board allows any contributor to create art on it using a Java interface on their local computers. Two of better known systems are called OekakiBBS and PaintBBS. These systems have become more and more sophisticated over time, allowing the quality of the pictures on the boards to increase.
The board system allows users to display, rate, and comment about posted art.
[edit] Oekaki and furry
Probably the most well known Oekaki board in furry is the Blue Furry Oekaki, administered by furry artist Guppy, and running on a modified PaintBBS system. Perhaps the most advanced furry Oekaki boards out there are Coonikaki and Deep Thinking Perverts Both run on the same website. Deep Thinking Perverts tends to contain a more adult content than Coonikaki while both have mature content.
