Rocky Mountain Fur Con is an annual furry convention that takes place in Denver, Colorado. The first Rocky Mountain Fur Con took place from June 1 to 3, 2007 and was chaired by Kahuki Lairu with assistant chair Sorin Kat.

While the second instance of the event saw 35% growth, the event failed to meet its room block, and faced a $30,000 debt. However, Guests of Honor, dates and a hotel have been confirmed for 2009. The convention will be held as scheduled.

Sorin Kat has stated the all of the con's debts save one have been paid off and that a sizable impact has been made on the one remaining debt due to some sizable donation by local furs. [1] The con board is also in negotiations with the hotel for the 2010 and 2011 cons.

Rocky Mountain Fur Con was first organized by the Mid-America Anthropomorphics and Arts Corporation to take place in June of 2006. However, when Anthrocon also announced its date for that same month, the decision was made to postpone the Rocky Mountain Fur Con's debut until 2007.

Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2007 took place from June 1 to 3 at the Denver Adam's Mark Hotel. Goldenwolf, Dark Natasha, and Michele Light were the guests of honor. The final official attendance was 236.^[1]

[edit] Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2008

Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2008 took place the weekend of May 23-25 at The Hyatt Regency in Denver. The theme for 2008 was "The Urban Wilderness".^[1] Blotch and LatinVixen were the Guests of Honor. The official final attendance was 319 according to [2] as of July 13, 2008.

[edit] Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2009

Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2009 will take place on August 7-9 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Denver, Colorado. The theme for 2009 is "A Wild Night on the Town". Guests of Honor will be artist Keihound and fursuiter ScribbleFox. Pre-registration is currently open until July 15.

Rocky Mountain Fur Con is organized by the Mid-American Anthropomorphic and Arts Corporation, a S corporation with 501(c)(3) status as of April 2009. The CEO is Kahuki Lairu, while the treasurer is Sorin Kat.
