Cubbi at Anthrocon 2007

Dr. Sergey V. Zubkov (born February 18th, 1976), is a furry, originally from Moscow, Russia, who as of 2002 lives on Long Island, New York. His fursona is a pink bear cub named Cubbi.

While in Moscow, he helped organize the Russian furry community, by creating and maintaining the FidoNet Echoconference fido7.ru.toon where the first Russian furries found each other in the 1990's, and by being one of the founders of the first RusFurrences. He has been visiting U.S.A. since 2000, and finally moved in 2002.

Cubbi currently resides on Long Island and attends I-CON, Anthrocon, FA: United, Cape May Furmeet, and Furfright every year. He is an active participant in the Long Island Furs community, holds regular furmeets^[1], and maintains the Long Island Furs webpage. Some Long Island Furs consider Cubbi a father figure for the group. Also, in reference to his karate practice, they circulate Chuck Norris Facts with "Cubbi" replacing "Chuck Norris".

Outside furry fandom, Cubbi holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, a rank of shodan in Shitō-ryū karate, and works as a software engineer. He and LadyMage were married on March 25, 2007.

Cubbi is an eight year old pink bear cub, originally based on the character of the same name from Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears. He spent a lot of time with other furries and became a furry himself, Cubbi's in-character fursona is a wild black panther. He often meows and can usually be seen wearing a tied-on fake black panther tail. Cubbi is not a babyfur, he hates being babied, but is still an age regression character. He is mischievous, lives all by himself, refuses to go to school, plays in the forests, landfills and sewers, and is a terrible influence on other cubs. He often gets into fights and all sort of trouble.

Cubbi first appeared online on IRC and FDCMuck in 1995^[2] and still can be found on a number of IRC networks including FurNet and on several MUCKs every day.

Muzzi is an eight year old green bear cub, created in 1992 as a part of Gummi Bears based fan fiction. Since then she has been a rare accidental character. Muzzi's personality is similar to Cubbi's (except she is not a furry and has no tail). She often speaks in what appears to be nonsense and is hard to comprehend.
