Techno C. Procyon

Techno C. Procyon is a furry artist and musician living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Her primary influence is within the Anthroid movement, having experimented with the concept years before meeting Lurdanjo and his nickname for the creatures. She prefers the term "androids", or "furry androids" if the clarification is needed.

Over the years, Techno has dated a few furries, namely Rask Husky, Dragonmaw/Succendo, Captain-Fox, and currently Ian Keith. She has also had relationships outside of the furry fandom. She identifies as pansexual, polyamorous, and transgender (either neuter or femme FtM). She has not yet transitioned through use of hormones or surgery. Techno prefers to use feminine pronouns to describe herself for ease of linguistics, although she does not identify as female in any way.

Techno has more recently been active within the postfurry community, as most of her concepts and philosophies fall neatly into the category. She was a member of Postvixen's short-lived Fluorocrash RPG on LiveJournal, where she played a pink-furred jackal-monster named Abraham Ignatius Profett. She also occasionally plays this character on 12Fold MUCK.

Some of Techno's interests include insects and crustaceans, especially isopods. She considers the dragon, the crow, all toothed cetaceans, protoraptors and troodonlike dinosaurs, and the xenomorph to be her representative spirit-creatures. She avidly dislikes the Moa, and most other flightless birds. Aside from a very mild totemistic spirituality, she is avidly anti-religious and severely opposed to organized religious groups of all kinds.

[edit] Characters and related projects

Techno carrying Sigmund

Techno C. Procyon's fursona is most recognized as being the character of the same name, a purple-furred anthroid raccoon with vague canine traits. Dr. Sigmund Xavier Fuchs and the previously-mentioned Abraham Ignatius Profett are less-popular alternate characters of hers, all of which exist in roughly the same Universe. Past fursonas (all of which are effectively "retired", aside from the occasional cameo in fan work) include Delphineius, Speck, Shizuku, and Wild Efui.

The characters of Techno and Sigmund have existed since around 2001, when work began on Third World Funk, a highly under-wraps story/comic/animation effort. The plot involves Sigmund's life and work with the United Federation Robotics Corporation, the creation of Techno (formally known as the t3p-0000-c prototype pilot-droid) and her "Time Rocket" device, known as the "T.R.A.I.N.", as well as the dramatic separation and subsequent struggle for reunion of Sigmund and Techno due to errors in the Doctor's experimentation with time-travel. The story is essentially complete, but Techno absolutely refuses to discuss the plot in detail in any public forum until the project is manifested either in comic book or animation form.

[edit] Musical endeavours

Techno has an extensive musical background, having studied piano for around 16 years, woodwinds (emphasizing bass and Bb clarinets) for 8 years, and electronic post-production for 4 years. Her involvement with electronic music, blipcore, and chiptunes was seeded by her early toying with MIDI Sequencers. She currently owns two Bb clarinets, one bass clarinet, an upright piano, an electric piano, a small MIDI keyboard, and a microKORG synthesizer.

She has completed three albums, "Songs for Herbie", "Click Factory Clockwork", and "Things In The Sky". The latter two can be found on her website. She is currently working on the follow-up to "Things In The Sky", as well as a cover album with a focus on late 1980s pop. She is also seeking a band or other musicians to jam with, as well as things that make interesting noises.

[edit] Significant IRC and online community involvement

Techno's first real online presence was on an Ecco The Dolphin fan-site called "The Undercaves" around 1999-2000, where she was known as Delphineius. The website was eventually assimilated by Arkonviox in his mission to dominate the Ecco Fandom, and with nowhere else to go, she reluctantly migrated to his web space. She remained there for a while before growing annoyed by the trollish tendancies of the users. Luckily, psysonic's Caverns of Hope, a rival Ecco fan-site, provided a safe haven for a while. After a long, traumatizing affair with Moduvator, one of the more influential members of the aforementioned website, and more attacks from Arkonviox, Techno left the website and was thereafter banned from every Ecco The Dolphin fan community on the web at the time as a "precautionary measure".

During the same time as the later portion of her Ecco Fandom involvement, Techno became involved with SunsetDrake (then known as Sunset_Espeon) and his EonPlanet project, based in the channel of #eonplanet on the now-defunct irc.mediadriven.net. She forged many friendships and a few romantic relationships, and remains in contact with many of the channel's regulars today, even after the untimely death and fallings-out of the server and it's users.

Towards the end of her MediaDriven residence, Techno (as Shizuku) ran a text-based freeform RPG called Frozen Tundra, centering on the life of a wolf pack with elemental superpowers. The project was short-lived but memorable, and there is a possibility of a revival in the future. It should be noted, however, that the "revival" has been promised since the game ended in late 2003, and no progress has yet been made.

While browsing MediaDriven's channels, Techno also stumbled across the fledgling #mobius, and became fast friends with its founder. The channel consisted of a measly 10 or so users, most of which were operators. The channel eventually changed it's name to #furry, and later moved to irc.esper.net after the server went down. From 2003 until late 2005, Techno moderated the channel as Rask Husky's "second-in-command"/go-to girl. After a falling-out and extensive argument between the two, it was decided parting ways would be in the best interests of them both. She left the channel quietly and has not returned since, although she still moderates #threesome, a rival channel founded by her good friends LandHawk and Eaglebird, which can also be found on the same server.

Up until recently, Techno was a very active Anonymous on 4chan's /b, and occasionally /m. Sadly, 4chan sucks lately.

[edit] Conventions and other RL Events

Techno attended her first furry-specific convention, AnthroCon, in 2007. She also has been regularly attending Steel City Con since she was 10, and has attended three TekkoshoCons. She attended MidWest Furfest 2007, where she worked in the Artist Alley and had pieces in the Art Show. She plans to attend All Fur Fun, AnthroCon, and MidWest Furfest in 2008.
