Transgender is a general term applied to those individuals that more closely associate their personality and interests with those stereotypically asssociated with the opposite sex.
Unlike transexuals, transgendered individuals do not necessarily wish to become the opposite sex, but rather act out their roles of feelings in ways typically done by the opposite sex.

[edit] Transsexuality
Transsexuality is a condition similar to trangenderism in which a transsexual person self-identifies as a member of the gender opposite to the one assigned to them at birth.
Commonly, a transsexual believes that his or her body does not reflect his or her true 'inner' gender, and under strict medical and psychotherapy guidlines, often pursue hormone replacement therapy and sex-change operations to have their physical body match their mental identification.

It is not uncommon to find furries who are transgender or transsexual, also known transfurries, or those who have create fursonas of the opposite sex for transgender roleplay. According to Pounced.org, 1 in 62 furs considers themselves transgendered, as compared to about 1 in 1000 for the United States as a whole. This may be as high as 1 in 10 when the group is limited to lifestylers.[citation needed]
It is important to realize that during TinySex, though one may roleplay with a character of the opposite sex of one's own character, the actual person behind that character may in fact be of the same sex. This, in and of itself, does not make one transgendered (or homosexual).
