Hi everyone! This is Kakurady Drakenar, sometimes also known as 猫夜叉 「NekoYasha」. I am born in China and currently attending a university in Canada.

Thanks for having an interest in me, but alas, this page is a bit messy for now. I'll be revamping it later, in the meantime, be careful don't trip over anything.

I have been interested in the furry fandom for some time, but I wasn't willing to participate. I started to regard myself as a furry since October 2007, being forced to adopt a furry avatar.

To this day however, I still don't have a set persona. I'm leaning towards the domestic cat, although I don't really know much about cats...

I regard being a furry as only a hobby, but also a matter of identity. I always ponder if I'm still one. Did I come here for the people, or the fur, or just the cuteness? I think, that the only measure of something (be it a person, or some kind of work) being a furry, is whether it identifies itself as such.

But I'm all for kemoshota! (Cute teen or pre-teen furs. Nothing explicit, don't think too much.)

Well... first, there's the fursuits... those are what dragged me towards the fandom, but, I'm not good at crafts.

Games? No thanks, I'm broke. Same goes for Anime.

Then there's the webcomics. I'm a fan of DMFA, TwoKinds, Slightly Damned, Freefall and about 6 other comics.

Slacking. Yeah, that's my favorite.

The sheer amount of art in the fandom is very aspiring though... I draw every now and then. But I'm not really good at drawing. I would love to have a fursuit (I know, many of us do) but as I said, I'm not good at crafts either.

I am a fan of Free software and the hackers that made it possible, though I'm finding myself writing less code every day. Better do something about this.

I also like to do random stuff, like translating, making fonts, or ... chatting.

Editing wikis are also quite fun for me. I rarely chun out entire blocks of text however, mostly just fixing typos and reverting random vandalisms. You can find my contributions on several wikis, but active on none of them.

And helping new users to adapt to conventions and functions of the wiki. Come to think of it, I do this everywhere. Was even mistaken for a Game Master for a few times.

Yeah, NekoYasha (meaning "Cat Demon"), is a direct reference to the popular anime InuYasha (literally "Dog Demon").

When I create nicknames for myself (technically for my character(s) in MMO), I want them to have some uniqueness and to be able to stand out. Since NekoYasha suggests an image of a mischievous cat, and being Japanese, having a foreign feel to it, while still easily type-able without using a Japanese IME.

And that NekoYasha is seldom taken in the games I register for ^_-

The name NekoYasha is not unique; I know about at least two no, make it three occasions where the name is used.

• numerous deviantART users have NekoYasha in their usernames (FWIW, mine doesn't)
• a InuYasha info site NekoYasha
• a Japanese band NekoYasha

This sig is best viewed in Interweb Exploder (as it provides ruby support), to NekoYasha's dismay (who, being a furry, obviously use Firefox).

It appears that nobody else has chose Kakurady as their nickname... yet. But ho would pick a name with such bad pronunciation?
