[edit] Fursonae
Recently Wyntrë posted the following on the popular forum Furry Teens, explaining his relation to his fursonae.
"... I actually have a very personal relationship with my fursonae. I use the plural because, although only one is active at the moment (well, that's not quite true...), I have two: a female panther, and a male timberwolf.
Since a very early age, these two have inhabited my dreams, keeping me company at night. I've always been very lonely... a lonely childhood, friendless for the most part, so these two animals kept me company in my dreams where reality was too much to face.
The first to appear was he whom I call Wyntrë, from whom I take my screen name, although I've not yet decided if that's his real name; he's never told me, always answering to Wyntrë. Wyntrë is simply a grey wolf, not a wolf-human cross. As far as I believe 'totem animals' exist, he is probably the closest thing to one for me. The second is the catgirl Toni, from whom I take my current personality. =^^= She started appearing in the dreams shortly after the wolf, keeping me company, always watching over me, though she was a lot less stoic than the other.
...
I've always felt as if I have a sort of multiple personality... thing (I wouldn't call it MPD proper); it seems to me as if I share my mind, my heart, with these two animals. Not so much that, though, as if I was no longer human; my human self was built up of the balance between the catgirl and the wolf in those days. I would literally have conversations in my head between the two conflicting personalities. I've thought of it before as the two representing my feminine and masculine sides, but I have a bit of a bigger imagination than most, so perhaps they took on lives of their own, and never quite died... but indeed have grown with me, and of me, and into me.
Around the end of 8th grade, the beginning of 9th grade, Wyntrë faded and disappeared, leaving me as Toni. I've been the catgirl then for a good four years, and have not felt any lupine inclination, other than a particular affinity for the species (I have a wolf calendar, lol). My first - and only, so far - fursuit has consisted simply of black cat ears and a matching tail; I have no matching lupine counterpart."
He has elsewhere been known to comment that he does not consider himself a therian, as he feels there are certain tenants of therianthropy which conflict with his personal belief system, although there are many characteristics of therianthropy which he does embody, e.g., what he calls 'phantom tail'.
